City Crime Terrifically Volatile (CCTV)
KumKum Dasgupta's 'Another shot in the dark' is thought provoking. It reminds that criminals of the sorts of Vijay veer and Manjit Singh are alarmingly on the spate. Many factors are responsible for their breed and growth. Important of them is the morbid reactions of these roadprint criminals caused by their hopelessness, joblessness, truthlessness, livelyhoodlessness in present perspective of scam-drenched and corruption-ladden politicians and their governance of loot. They are busy buying opportunities to create firewall for their safety of chair. Hopeless youths readily resort to criminalism and ruthlessly play at their whims. For them Rs 27.00 is not a less amount.

Kayastha Halo Dimming
Now a days Kayasthas are upper-caste Hindu with lower social strength. In ancient time they were rulers. After ruling for several centuries they had to lose kingdoms. Then they resorted to work as ministers of kings or their chiefs. It was their strong inherent characteristics to either rule or help kings rule efficiently. This continued for millenniums altogether. In the times of Muslim rulers, too, they found their places at the key posts in their kingdoms. Without their help it was hard for the Badshah and sultans or kings to rule. After six to seven hundred years of Muslim rule Britishers gradually ushered in and usurped the entire Indian kingsom. They slowly started spreading their own culture, language, law and hegemony. They used their own manners and traits to subdue Indians. They however recognised Kayasthas' intellectual strength. They liked us because of our ability to rule or help the rulers. We had learnt Urdu, Persian in the Muslim period. My great grandfather Sheo Charan Lal (1848-1932) was a great scholar of Persian. Moulvis from far and wide would come to learn Persian from him. In British period we learnt English and law much qucker than others. Kayasthas of Bengal and Madras besides those of Hindi belt showed their remarkable skill in learning foreign languages. Kayasths were well versed in land and revenue reforms and tax collection. In addition to this they helped spread education in rural and urban areas. Therefore Kayasthas had carved a niche in the British administration. They were made small, Kings, Jamindars and chiefs also. But Britishers did much harm to the social fabric of the country. They looted us in an extremely organised way. They left the whole nation bruised and battered. Many Kayasthas and other luminaries felt terrible insult to work under them. Subhash Chandra Bose had once slapped a British prof. for he had once abused Indians. Many chose the way to mayterdom than to live under their rule of oppression and tyrrany. Khudi Ram Bose, Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi are names worth mentioning here.
Let us peep into the vast corridors of Vedic, Puranic and Historical treasures of events and facts. Let us discover facts related to our Aadi Purush Bhagwan Shree Chitragupta and His off-springs - Kayasthas. Here I want to suggest the interested readers to go through the precious article of Dr Sheo Kumar Asthana. He is the national patron of ABKM. An Ex MLA, Dr Asthana, is the Chief Editor of Bartman Kamal Jyoti. The tittle of the article is 'Bhagwan Sri Chitragupta Ewam Chitrash Pariwar'. This was published in the 'Kayastha Patrika' of June 2006-edition. It came out as a special issue on the occasion of 123rd National Conference of ABKM held on 10-11 June at Bhopal. Once you all read it and apply his suggestions in practice, I am sure Kayasthas' fate will change to prosperous and elevated state from the present social fabric of our existence and status. It provides the essentials to recognise our origin, lineage, status and importance. It makes us aware of the socio-religious conspiracy of our bretheren belonging to the few privilged class of our society. This organised plot and mischievous conspiracy against us led us to reconcile to worship our god Sri Chitraguptji Maharaj dwarfing him as low as the clerk of Yamraj. Manu
Kayasthas perhaps do not find mention in Manu-Smriti. Though Manu was elder brother of Sri Chitraguptaji according to Mahabharat. But in Vedas and Purans we have our glorious records. We inherit both the Brahmnical and Kshatriyical qualities from our absolutely initial ancestor god Chitragupta. He is the 17th son of Lord Brahma. So by birth He is Brahmin but by Karma ( work ) He is both Brahmin and Kshatriya. Therefore He has to judge all creatures' worldly actions and functions, virtues and sins and execute them according to their deeds. The later is the work of Kshatriya.
In ancient days Kayasthas were kings in several parts of the world. They had ruled very well. During the days of Alexander's invasion, Kayasth-kings faced his army bravely. They had to face other enemies' invasion several times. Raja Jaipal was a Kayastha king of Lahore in the time of Subuktagin, the father of Mahmud Ghajni. He fought bravely his enemies but got defeated at last. Thus we see glorious history is great. Need is to study and conduct intessive research. We need to change our pooja-systems and the book of cheap Sanskrit slokas which scale down His glory.

For Economy Bloom
With reference to the edit page article 'The Bold And The Fruitful' by Avinash Dixit (Oct 15), it is entirely necessary to pursue talent search hunts, openning of true research hubs, linking them with universities and research-centres and finally develop effective processes for manufacturing new, sustainable, cheap, ecofriendly and energy saving items for world wide use at all levels. China is an example. It has 75% toy control over the world market. Its total GDP is 2.5 times of India. Our nation is capable of producing thousands of Faradays and Steive Jobes. Need is to harness their talent in the right way. Their products and its good market will bring Economy- Bloom for India.

Planning For Political, Social and Economic Freedom
Kudos ! for the prizeable article 'Charting A Different Course' by the planning commission member Arun Maira (20-Oct). The writer presented eye-opener thoughts on 'deep democracy' and 'inclusive economy'. Both terms have large inherent implications. These are involved in 1. Nearly cent percent pole in each and every elections, 2. Frequent meetings with Mukhia, MLA, MP and other elected bodies with the people of the concerned constituencies for developmental works etc, 3. Policy of People's supremacy over parliament, 4. Creating new ways of 'inclusive democratic capitalism'.
Development of deep democratic capitalism will pave the ways of minimising the gaps between the owner and the workers. All will taste the fruits of capitalism. The wranglesome ministers, MPs, MLAs, and leaders must read it for better vision and thouhts. Giriwar Nandan Prasad, Jharkhand.
Maya made true dalit-dreams of thousands of years
With reference to 'A space of one's own' by Aakshi Magazine (24th Oct) i have to say that she did what dalits had in their dreams for thousands of years. We have all compliments to her on this mega-project park of Rs 685 crores for 'prerna' of dalits. Dalits and their sympathisers will surely rejoice to visit the 'sthal'.
This park, however, came in existence much before its due time. The dire need of the crores of dalits and all the deprived ones is not spending times in the park but earning two times meals a day. They lag behind in education, health and nutrition. Addiction of hooch and other bad habits are another stumbling blocks in the path of substancial change in their way of life. Today it serves only as a source of self aggrandisement.

The sharp divides in society like BPL, APL, Creamy layers etc. will exist and pester us so long as children are sent to work, not to schools. After more than six decades of independence the socio-political situations of the country have turned just a bare fact that poverty is the outcome of ongoing child labour. For this equal responsibilities must be thrust on the heads of government, judiciary, administration and public in general. Only uni]\]versal child education programme has the potentialities to change th\e mind-sets of millions of starving people world over. A cause of mass concern.
Today population explosion is a super cause to worry. The seven billionth child, born in Manila on 31st Oct 2011,has added more wrinkles on our forehead. Surely the earth has never felt such overwhelming burden in its life of 4.54 billion years. This horrific rise in number of lives on earth is causing of speedy depletion of natural resourses. Even if a lot of renewable sources of energy be harnessed and brought in massive use, fearful hazards of deadly pollution, associated health problems, poverty, food shortage, crime rates and extremists' activities will rise up disproportionately. Experts say that 16 million hectares of forests are chopped down every year causing extinction of some important species of plants and animals. Agricultural need and its gradual enhancement is leading to loss of millions of hectares of wetlands and ground water reservoires. Solid waste refuse is another major problem for safe dumping or cheaper recycling. Therefore seven billionth child didn't come on the earth to give us pleasure but to fret and get vexed.
Passive mob and rising crime against women
With reference to 'The victim syndrome' by Barkha Dutta (Nov 12) it seems, out of many causes, two are conspicuously more responsible for such crimes agaist women. The first is the continual loss of our social and spritual adherence to mortification and austerities allowing young girls display their body contours in tightest jeans or thinnest wears. And the second is the plus-minus pre-emptive reactions rising in the hearts of gathering mobs on the occasions of occurences rendering them passive. The sacrifices of R Fernandese and K Santos fail to evince sympathetical response from the throng of passive onlookers. They are let die fighting grim evils alone. But all mobs are not be blamed. It was the mob at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi which rose up in favour of Anna, kicking UPA lick his feet's dust. One must analyse the mob-factors which eventually give two types of results, as in Delhi and Mumbai. Invasion of the far off culture of the 'permissive sex societies' and the transitional phase of the complimentary gesture of 'your parents look sexy' must change first to hope mobs fight out Keenan's enemies.
No rolling back of 'afspa'
With reference to your editorial 'Since things are better...' (ourtake, Nov 16) it seems things are not better as yet. Sino-Pak nexus is assuming alarming proportion in view of ther military-base build-up along Indian borders. Large number of missiles are being stored. Trenches and bunkers are reportedly made as in war like situations. Their first thurst will start from pussing large number of infiltrators for instigation. In such situation it will not be wise to deprive them of this power. Things will really be better when Kashmiri Pundits go back and resettle in their forefather's homeland. ---------
'Because we do remain the dirtiest and filthiest country'
With reference to 'Partners in grime' by Gopalkrishna Gandhi (Nov 19) I do agree him with full support. In strong connotative words he drew real picture of the present state of affairs of this country at virtually all levels. From an ordinary kitchen to the extraordinary parliament and from vegetable mart to courts of law we see stinking filth and dirt everywhere. Sukhram, a minister involved in telcom scam, gets punishment after 15 years. The same time or more will take in finalising the ill-famed Chara ghotala. In 'An Area Of Darkness' V S Naipal had a real cause to fret seeing children and grown ups defecating on road sides or at public places or throwing edible rejects anywhere. People with stained images having numerous cases pending in the court get elected as MP or MLA. Filth and dirt symbolise our robust corrupt systems. However the writer din't mention ways and means for its treatment and eradication.
A slap in the face but a giant punch on the corrupt system
Harvinder Singh is a symbol of simmering millions who nurture acute
,abominal discontent against all corrupt politicians who have hid black money like body-tumour and are stuck to ruling systems like leper bacillus. Slap in the face of Sharad Pawar is a symbol of mere display of outburst of public anger and resentment. Now the time is ripe for all leaders to come to norms in dealing public matters with full honesty, integrity and sanctity.
The Govt. itself outruns Parliament.
With reference to the 'Wholesale sell-out' by Sitram Yechury (29 Nov) it is clear that the UPA Govt. itself does not want to have a
good go of the winter session of Parliament, awaited most eagerly for intesive discussions on price rise, black money, corruption and Anna's Lokpal Bill and suitable legislation thereof. Allowing the wholesale syndrome of FDI retail is tantamount to Jahangir allowing East India Company to spread its tentacles for its rule over India. I agree with Yechury that by permitting the entry of multinational giants will only push millions into poverty and misery.

India's Politician Of The Year
With reference to 'The lady in the house' by Ashok Malik ( 9 Dec ) I agree well with him that Mamta Banerjee is India's most powerful chief minister today. It is her farsighted decisive roles for the benefits of general mass of the people of the state in particular that catapulted her to this high pedestal. She not only rooted out three decades left rule in the state but also won over the hearts of
her people by fighting down Singoor, Teesta Water and retail FDI ravels. What makes her most remarkable among other CMs of India is her deep foresight, strong will-power,integrity and adherence to political decisions. I wish all CMs should imitate her and Nitish and sideline Koda and Yeddu varieties.

Anna's Lokpal, An Elixir to the sick Democracy
I feel hard to agree with Nripendra Mishra'views expressed in 'A pill to cure all ill?' (12 Dec). In this over abused Democracy of India, let a 'strong lokpal act' come on the surface to scavenge it from all criminals. The ongoing one-day Anna's fast strike on 11th Dec and the dispassionatly intriguous faces of Congress leaders reacting ruthlessly on him and his team has shown much to the nation the relevance of this bill(act). Let us hope it will not fall under its own weight

It is time to start shunning nostalgia
Nostalgia, rightly says Sagarika Ghose in her article 'Our time to start' (14 Dec), is dangerously destructive if it becomes a principle of governance or a plank of opposition. But Ghose must note that this will exist so long there is lack of proper education among common masses and of awareness among leaders of the societies. Leaders include of different religions also. Of 120 crores of Indian population more than 40% are illiterate, 60% of the rest are literate but ill-educated. 24 % of the total are educated but most of them are passive and busy in their own works. Then who will take trouble to change the Purusa-Sukta of Rig-Veda-Hymn and extricate people from nostalgiac-deluse !. However soone or later we need to shun it for better future.
Discover a way to arrest Rupee-devaluation..
This refers to your editorial 'With our bucks to the wall' (Ourtake, 15 Dec). India is fated to import enregy in the form of oil more than anything else. For deisel, petrol and cooking gas we import nearly 70% of the total consumption. According to Directorate General of Commerce India imported oil from Jan 2011 to Nov 2011 for Rs 383.624 billion from different countries. It is because, the consumption of oil is rising day by day due to higher growth rate of population and consecutive high uses of energy resources. Speedy growth in uses of cars as luxury items and growing needs of transports etc have raised country's oil demand. Rupee is threaded to Dollar for its puppet playing, causing sharp decline in rupee-value. Why not discover a suitable way to arrest the freefall of its value. For this we need to minimise oil-uses and inspire our scientists to discover alternate energy-sources. It may be by harnessing all kinds of renewable sources of energy along with using ionised hydrogen as cheap fuel. It can be procured from sea water. Uses of deep and wide perennial canals for irrigation and easy transports on water.
Illegal brewers are dangerous killers !
This refers to 'What cannot be their poison' (Ourtake, 17 Dec). Hooch loving people are most likely to fall prey to illegal brewers who care more for fast bucks than for human-lives. Daily drunkards get mentally weak and gradually loose mental balance. Desi brewers take advantage of this situation and sell out their spurious liquor. These are prepared sometimes with prohibited chemicals. These killers are more dangerous than naxals and terrorists. The latter can be traced, sued and punished but the former, having nexus with the police and administration, wander usually scot-free. The Department of Exise and Prohibition play a passive role in such affairs. A strong Lokpal will book them too with the illegal brewers.
Indian cinema performs world ambssadorial works
This refers to 'India Cinemascope' by Sitaram Yechuri (20 Dec). Through this article he remembered Munshi Premchand of PWA(Progressive Writers Association) and Prithwiraj Kapoor of IPTA (Indian People's Theatre Association) and their all devoted members. He is perfectly right to say that they were the talented script writers, lyricists and singers who made heroes like Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar, Guru Dutta, Ashok Kumar, Balraj Sahani, Dev Aand, Raj Kumar, Madhubala, Meena Kumari, Nargish and many other artists spreaded India's ethos and pathos around the world horizon. Awara's Rajkapoor became extremely popular in and out of India and specially in Russia. He had become a life time ambassador to that country. But now a days India-conciousness gave way to Box Office bucks. Let cinema makers pay heed to Yechuri.
GNPrasad, Growth be granted but not at the cost of ecology
This refers to Sanjay Gubbi's 'Greedy for growth' (21 Dec). By permitting 44 mini hydel projects on the Nethravathi river, the Karnataka Govt. has caused corcern not only for the wildlife biologists, Sanjay Gubbi, but also for all ecology-concious citizens. Since independence we have been in rat race for achieving growth at the cost of ecological degradation. Jungles all over the countries are reduced to mere 15% risking wildlives and promoting global warming. Govt. rules are smoothly flaunted.
Central Govt. should take Food Security as National Security
This has reference with Prof Jean Dreze's article 'Hunger must go' (December, 22). The fire brand warrior against unemployment and poverty
among millions of million people in India is advocating for Food Security Bill to which centre has given its nod. Right to nutrition and food should top the agenda of Right to education and Right to information. Prof Dreze rightly suggests that constructive discussion must be held first to pave its way of financial clearance.
Hungry men's begging hands are nuisance to the well-fed
This refers to the report 'HC raps Anna....' (December 24). The renouned social leader is fighting for the people's cause. He has no intention to break the 'Maryada' of parliament. His stress is to improve the law enforcement systems so that corruption can be brought under control on the one hand and real, inclusive development be brought on the other. Raja, Monjhi, Koda, Lalu, Yedu, Reddy... and Kasab, Afzal Guru are nuisance and mind everyone ! not Anna.
Not an undeserved charity
This has reference to the Harsh Mander's article 'Too little, too late' (December 26). The Prime Minister of India and his economic advisers are of alarmist views so far as the cost incurred is concerned in making the Food Bill perfectly viable. We need Brazilian courage to adopt a positive attitude to work out efficiently the 'Zero Hunger Project'.
Bengal ministers told to observe austerity
This refers to the report 'Mamta bans year-end holidays for ministers' (December, 28). She banned year-end hoiday, uninhibited party-revelry and acceptance of expendive gifts. I hope all her ministers will follow her commandments bashfully. In such a corruption-torn system Didi's stern ban diktat shows that some parts of idealism are still left on the shore, every thing is not swept away in corruptional deluse. Didi's missionary mind should set examples for all states as well as the whole country.
Anna should go apolitical
The difference between August hero-shows of Anna in Delhi and the his December flop-show in Mumbai, with many reasons, can be attributed to his undue tilt from an immaculate apolitical stature to a political one. His trumpetic announcement that he and his team will strongly oppose the ruling party (Congress) in the ensuing assembly elections of 5 states has maligned and reduced his unbiased, prodigious, nationalist character to the stature of a mere myopic- oppositionist. His mission is broad, pervasive, war against long prevailing corruption. This malaise has put India's position last but one in the list of 79 corrupt nations of the world. Thus he should have refrained from narrow politics. Md Qurreshi, the CEC, has announced to keep an eagles-eye on him if they meddles in it.
Rail journey now not so safe
This refers to the report, 'Train derails in Dhanbad for 2nd time in fortnight' (Decemer 31). The burning trains, train derailment or train-loot cases are now no more filmy stories. It has become real and nearly frequent. People now fear to take rail-journey. Reasons are the negligence on the parts of maintanence staffs, officers, sation masters, naxal activism, RPF, scanty budget provisions etc. The railway ministery must be vigilant to mitigate passengers' miseries.
